Abstract:The post-impressionists’color concept has overturned the tradition of western painting by focusing on color’s performance, decoration and symbolism. A large area of flat coated and solid color could create a strong feeling of contrast in order to express the subjects’emotion. Affected by the color concept of the post-impressionists, modern graphic designers tend to deal with two-dimensional pictures with a large area of flat and bright colors to create decorative beauty, which is helpful to express the inner feelings of designers, to create a visual impact and to impress the audience. These practices are worth being used by contemporary graphic designers.
