Abstract:Based on 3D physical models of the external double skin facade (DSF) with built-in shading shutters, the material properties of the interior and exterior skin facades can be worked out by using WINDOW software. The simulation of solar loading model of the temperature field and velocity field, which can be found in the hot channel of double skin facades, can be achieved by using FLUENT software, thus obtaining the temperature and flow properties and the dynamic insulation efficiency of the hot channel. The study shows that the temperature and velocity distribution in hot channels, both working in a coupled manner, affect the the insulation performance of double skin facades.
