There exists confusion in use of “黏” and “粘” in science and technology periodicals, and there are historical factors and people use habits factors. In addition, the lack of publicity is an objective factor in misuse of “黏” and “粘”. According to the relevant document provisions issued by the state relevant department and the relevant interpretation of current references as well as the related definition of China National Committee for Terms in Sciences and Technologies, it is proposed to use the term of “黏” in scientific papers and scientific journals.
