Various pentacyclic triterpenoids, widely distributing in plants, have excellent pharmacological activities. The clinical application of such compounds has attracted much attentions. The research of the structure and classification of Ursolic Acid and similar pentacyclic triterpenoids and their distribution and pharmacological functions are summarized.
