Abstract:A retrospective view of history reveals that the primary difficulties in achieving KMT-CPC cooperation in the Hunan-Jiangxi border area during the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression were as follows: the historical grievances accumulated during the “ten-year standoff” between the two parties were hard to dissolve; the significant “disparity in strength” made solidarity and coordination difficult to achieve; and the political divergences regarding the “united front” proved challenging to reconcile. To overcome the obstacles to cooperation and safeguard the National United Front of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, the Communist Party of China (CPC) adopted a series of countermeasures, demonstrating its role as the mainstay in the struggle. The arduous journey and experience of the CPC in promoting KMT-CPC cooperation in the Hunan-Jiangxi border area during this period illuminate several key insights. Firstly, strategic thinking is fundamental to planning and adopting tactics; it is imperative to always prioritize the overall situation and focus on long-term goals. Secondly, its successful experience confirms that methods and strategies are the means to resolve contradictions and achieve victory; it is essential to persistently seek common ground while reserving differences and embrace inclusivity. Finally, its characteristics reveal that the philosophy of struggle is key to handling complex issues; we must always uphold the principles of daring to struggle and being adept at it.
