By means of absorbing Western academic frontiers critically, integrating traditional Chinese ecological wisdom and exploring independent theoretical frameworks, domestic Ecocriticism has advanced in multiple dimensions in 2024, including the introduction of emerging research paradigms, the reflection on the applicability of foreign Ecocriticism and the enhancement of practical guidance of theories. These achievements are substantial and reflect a number of trends: updated theoretical advancements, robust interdisciplinary integration, continuous expansion of research boundaries and progressive localization of theory. However, this developmental trajectory has surfaced several challenges, such as insufficient indigenization of theoretical frameworks, the continued existence of fragmentation in research praxis. Additionally, the international influence of this research needs to be strengthened.
