Abstract:At the beginning of the 20th century, under the background of new ideological trends and deepening national crisis, the thoughts of bourgeois revolutionaries represented by Sun Yat-sen, Dai Jitao, Hu Hanmin and Lin Yungai, changed dramatically. They actively introduced and interpreted Marxism through important theoretical publications such as Weekly Review and Construction. The bourgeois revolutionaries’ propaganda of Marxism mainly focused on historical materialism, political economics and the theory of class struggle, which objectively promoted the early spread of Marxism in modern China. At the same time, because the bourgeois revolutionaries always adhered to the belief of the Three Principles of the People, they could not break through their own limitations, and had impure motives for introducing Marxism, which eventually led them to completely part ways with Marxism at the turning point of history.
