Zhu Qiqian was a famous politician, industrialist and scholar during the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China. His life activities and writings had a wide impact on the politics, economy and culture of modern China. Since the 1990s, although the research on Zhu Qiqian has accumulated some remarkable achievements, involving Zhu Qiqian and Society for the Study of Chinese Architecture, the urban construction of Beijing, Zhu Qiqian’s study on architectural history, arts and crafts, and many other topics and fields, on the whole, the research on Zhu Qiqian has not yet formed a scale, and it is still in the stage of exploration and development. The problems in the existing research on Zhu Qiqian, such as the need to strengthen the arrangement of personal writings, insufficient research perspective, and lack of comprehensive research results, urgently require more attention and effective solutions in the future.
