Abstract:The metaverse is the future domain for ideological and political education in colleges and universities. It embeds the requirements of educational subjects, shapes the characteristics of educational objects, upgrades the forms of educational media, and forges the framework of educational environment, which triggers innovation in the concept of ideological and political education in colleges and universities. The dialectical interplay between metaverse and ideological and political education manifests dual innovation logics of idea: the mechanism of the metaverse penetrating, transmitting, and diffusing into the concept of ideological and political education in colleges and universities, and the mechanism of ideological and political education in higher education selecting, absorbing, and transforming the metaverse. To promote the innovation of ideological and political education concept in colleges and universities, it is necessary to promote technological penetration from the outside to create conditions for nurturing new concepts, strengthen organizational transmission to create an environment for the emergence of new concepts, and create opportunities for the diffusion of new concepts through publicity and promotion. It is also necessary to start from the demands of ideological and political education in colleges and universities to enhance the pertinence of concept innovation, absorb the strong educational efficacy of metaverse technology to enhance the effectiveness of concept innovation, and follow the laws of ideological and political education work in colleges and universities to enhance the scientific nature of concept innovation.
