The metaverse is the future domain for ideological and political education in colleges and universities. It embeds the requirements of educational subjects, shapes the characteristics of educational objects, upgrades the forms of educational media, and forges the framework of educational environment, which triggers innovation in the concept of ideological and political education in colleges and universities. The dialectical interplay between metaverse and ideological and political education manifests dual innovation logics of idea: the mechanism of the metaverse penetrating, transmitting, and diffusing into the concept of ideological and political education in colleges and universities, and the mechanism of ideological and political education in higher education selecting, absorbing, and transforming the metaverse.
