Abstract:The urban TV series Modern Marriage takes a series of family conflicts caused by the return of full-time mother Shen Huixing to the workplace as the main line, connecting the conflict and reconciliation between marriage and career of several other young couples. It presents the current living conditions of urban women in a multifaceted and three-dimensional way, showing their efforts to balance the relationship between career and family, and their exploration process of re-establishing subject consciousness between gender, identity and family life. Unlike previous TV seriesof the same theme, which highlight the plot setting of gender opposition from the perspective of female narrative, Modern Marriage affirms the efforts of urban women in balancing the relationship between marriage, family and career, and shows the transformation of gender relationship from separation to integration in terms of narrative style and theme.
