Abstract:As an essential component of the Chinese revolutionary literature and art, red operas during the Yan’an period reflecting the ardent expectation of the Chinese Communists and the Chinese nation for national liberation and independence. Their inherent moral edification function became an important pillar in aiding the victory of the revolution. The red operas hold significant meaning in unity-oriented and revolutionary moral narratives, inspiring the consciousness of unity and the will to struggle among the people. They play an important role in leading social moral trend, stimulating patriotism and enhancing social cohesion. In the context of the new era, the red opera in Yan’an period is of great significance for guiding the establishment of correct ideals and beliefs, guiding the cultivation of noble moral sentiments, and encouraging participation in socialist modernization. To continue and realize the moral influence function of red opera in Yan’an period, we need to work hard from cognition, media and practice.
