Abstract:Tan Tan is a representative writer of Mining Literature, with “realism” serving as a special marker for entering the “landscape”of his texts. His novels not only present a distinctive era landscape but also faithfully record the historical changes of that landscape, while demonstrating a high degree of identification with and active response to the spirit of the times. His recent collection of essays, The Running Fortress, through a unique cultural landscape, documents the significant changes occurring in the rural society of China in the new era. The cultural landscapes shaped by Tan Tan in different texts are not only a manifestation of his personal writing preferences but also an important medium for shaping his identity.
