Abstract:The magazine China Reconstructs adheres to the principle of seeking truth from facts, combines macro narrative with micro narrative, adopts the writing technique of comparing old with new and uses the expression of foreign guests extensively, and constructs the national image of new China from three aspects of political power, people’s livelihood and culture: the political image of the government sharing weal and woe with the people; the people’s livelihood image of improving people’s lives and improving women’s status; the cultural image of traditional culture being upright and innovative, and the cultural and educational undertakings constantly developing. Its practice of international publicity in building the national image of new China has provided precious historical experience for international publicity and national image construction in the new era.
