Abstract:Cai E, born in a poor rural family, deeply concerned the sufferings of the people when he was young. In his early years, he was determined to save the country and the people, and made the original intention of “for the country but not for the rights”. Therefore, he followed the trend of the development of modern Chinese history, launched and led the Kunming Chongjiu Uprising after the Wuchang Uprising of the 1911 Revolution, and resolutely launched and led the anti-Yuan War with the protection of the country regardless of personal safety when Yuan Shikai restored the monarchy. In order to prevent the retrogression of modern Chinese history and “rebuild the republic”. Cai E spent his life practicing his original intention and contributing the most valuable life to it. As socialism with Chinese characteristics enters a new era, it is still of great practical significance to look back Cai E’s revolutionary life of sticking to his original mind.
