Body is an important key to understand Yu Xiuhua’s creation. Due to her congenital disability, Yu Xiuhua has extraordinary sensitivity and perception towards her body. The strong sense of her body consciousness runs through her literary creation, carrying the author’s rich emotional experience of life. The body pain experience under the discipline of power, the unique body experience from a female perspective, body writing under the burning of lust, and the life inspiration in natural perception are the four dimensions for interpreting Yu Xinhua’s body poetics. The unique individual body perception has become the source and center of Yu Xinhua’s creation, but to certain extent, it has trapped the poet in the limited individual body experience, which restricts the poet’s creation to deepen and expand the soul and the world.
