Abstract:Promoting common prosperity for all people is an important point of the Party’s 20th National Congress report and General Secretary Xi Jinping’s remarks on achieving common prosperity. The function of political identity it implies can be grasped from three aspects: party identity, national identity and ethnic identity.In terms of party identity, it is conducive to enhancing people’s recognition of the Party’s purpose and nature, guiding ideology and strategic plans, as well as commitment to work and governance capacity. In terms of national identity, it helps to strengthen the people’s identification with national development path, national system and national image. In terms of ethnic identity, it is beneficial to the promotion of people’s recognition of excellent traditional culture, national cohesion and the sense of the Chinese nation as one united community.
