Abstract:Through the difference of the proletarian life in capitalist society, Marx and Engels develop a conception of a better life in The Communist Manifesto from three dimensions: maintaining the natural attributes of human existence, ensuring the healthy development of human social attributes, and building a communist society on the basis of survival and development. Different from pure theoretical construction, The Communist Manifesto also provides a practical path to achieve a better life which is to eliminate private ownership and root out the economic foundation of the exploitation system, to make a complete break with traditional concepts for the awakening of self-awareness, and to bring the guiding and vanguard role of the proletariat into full play. In the new era, the Communist Party of China upholds fundamental principles and breaks new ground. The concept of a better life in The Communist Manifesto has been put into practice and well developed by liberating and developing social productive forces and protecting natural productive forces, prospering and developing socialist culture with Chinese characteristics, giving play to the main strength of the people and to the leading force of the Communist Party of China.
