Abstract:The Legend of Dong Yong, selected into the national intangible cultural heritage list, is deeply loved by the Zhuang people. Song of Dong Yong and the Fairy, a song book written in old Zhuang characters in Xincheng County, Guangxi, is a representative in many Zhuang folk reconstruction of The Legend of Dong Yong. Through the comparative analysis of Zhuang and Han versions, it is found that the song book is mainly borrowed from the Ming Dynasty Vernacular book Dong Yong Meets the Fairy and Huangmei Opera film Tian Xian Pei. Through the relevant replacement reconstruction, Song of Dong Yong and the Fairy strengthens the “filial piety” narrative and myth prototype, implies the failure of uncle’s marriage narrative, and integrates the marriage and family ethics narrative to highlight the narrative tension. Through the incremental reconstruction, it explains the narrative cause and effect of filial piety, shows the repetitive narrative of “women are stronger than men”, and makes the narrative rhythm relaxed, so as to optimize the narrative technique. The cross ethnic reconstruction of the Legend of Dong Yong makes the legend shared by the Chinese nation gain a certain degree of narrative appreciation, and shows the cultural consciousness of the people of all ethnic groups to build the common spiritual home of the Chinese nation.
