Abstract:The development of female virtues in the new era is an integral aspect of the moral development of new era citizens. From the standpoint of care ethics, female virtues of the new era can be summarized as self-respect and self-confidence, self-reliance and self-improvement, love of country and family, dedication and devotion; courtesy and honesty, tolerance and generosity; brave and upright, caring and amicability; diligence and thrift, elegance and generosity. This is a general reflection on the moral behavior and moral relationships of women in the new era, a concretization of their moral choices in family life, professional life, and public life, an affirmation of women’s unique moral experience, and a transmission and development of traditional female virtues. The cultivation of female virtues in the new era requires not only that society, schools, and families strengthen women’s moral education, but also that women themselves consciously strengthen the connotation of caring virtues, nourish virtues with knowledge, stimulate virtues with emotions, fortify virtues with intentions, and fulfill virtues with actions.
