Abstract:Romance is a major style created by modern Hunan drama writers, and the emergence of this style is closely related to the regional culture of Hunan. Under the nourishment and nurture of the fantastic mountains and beautiful waters and the strong Wu Nuo fashion, Hunan modern drama writers may invest their rich imagination in their works, and make them show a strong legend through the narrative of abnormal plots; or express the love view of advocating love and sex with love stories and the depiction of the images of men and women who are desperate for love. Affected by the ethos of the times, the romances written by modern Hunan drama writers also show different features of integrating regional culture and the times, such as expressing the desire of love and sex, expressing the division and contradiction between the subject’s spiritual freedom and social reality.
