Abstract:Using bibliometrics based on information technology to study the influence of Marx’s works on the academic development of journalism and communication studies in China is the combination of the development of the times and theoretical research, and it is also a new perspective to analyze Marx’s works to promote the academic development of journalism and communication in China. Taking 125 academic papers on journalism and communication collected in CSSCI source journals and citing Marx’s works as samples, this paper uses bibliometric research methods to find that: Capital, Communist Manifesto, Preface to Critique of Political Economy; German Ideology and other works are cited the most frequently; Since the 200th anniversary of Marx’s birth, the research results have increased significantly. The School of Journalism of Renmin University of China occupies a leading position in the number of articles published, the frequency of citations, the frequency of downloads and the leading of academic hotspots. In the new era, breaking through the discipline boundaries, expanding the research field, strengthening the qualitative research, supplementing the speculative research, and the prortion of units issuing documents in different regions is seriously unblanced are the problems that need to be solved to further promote the academic development of China’s journalism and communication with the help of Marx’s works.
