Using CiteSpace5.6.R2 and Vosview software, 1155 research documents related to the concept of“two mountains”were retrieved from the CNKI database, and the overall status, hot coordinates and map of changes of the research driven by the concept of“two mountains”from 2006 to 2019 were drawn. The results show that: in terms of current research status, the number of articles posted is increasing as a whole. The author with the most articles is Wu Shunze, the cooperation network with Wang Qian as the core is the most prominent, and the institution with the most articles is the Development Research Center of the State Council. The research topic hotspot is mainly manifested as“ecological civilization construction”. The hot keywords form a strategic coordinate map of 11 clusters, including core-driven paths, potential-driven paths, edge-driven paths, and basic driven paths.“Development”is the core driving path; in terms of driving development changes, the research on rural cultural tourism development can be divided into three stages: exploration stage (2006—2014), prosperity stage (2015—2017), and deepening stage (2018—2019) ,“ecology first”and“high-quality development”are currently the hot frontiers driving research.
