Abstract:The long historical novel Tian Wen · Fiction at the End of Ming Dynasty by Taiwan writer Lin Peifen takes the decline and fall of Ming Dynasty as the main line, and the rise of the Qing Dynasty in the East, the uprising of the “roving bandits” in northern Shaanxi and the intellectual ethos of Fushe in the south of the Yangtze River as the secondary lines, which shows the narrative pattern of the panorama of reappearance of history. It also interprets the history with human nature, analyzes the personality state of the important officials of the imperial court and the famous people of the restoration society, and reveals the historical inevitability of the fall of the Ming Dynasty. The work presents the “heavy sorrow” and “heroic efforts” in the historical process, and eulogizes the moral integrity of the general of Daming who fought in the battle and the sentiment of the famous ladies in the south of the Yangtze River who kept themselves clean. The work organically integrates the elegy of the decline and fall of the dynasty, the elegy of the transformation of human nature and the ode of the noble personality, and opens up a new aesthetic realm of the theme on the change from Ming to Qing dynasties.
