Abstract:The success of Wolf Warriors II is inseparable from the reference of Hollywood screenwriting mode, and its every link from “building”, “confrontation” to “ending” strictly follows the screenwriting principles of three-act play. By narrating the thrilling story of Chinese contemporary lone heroes rescuing their compatriots overseas, the film strongly demonstrates the rising power of China, which also makes it one of the most successful films in China to learn from Hollywood scriptwriting techniques, and thus broadens the genre creation field of Chinese Theme Films. However, there are still some defects in the screenwriting, including the lack of breakthrough and innovation, the inevitable disadvantages of genre films, and the tendency of cognitive bias and superiority in African narrative.
