Both the Battle of Triangle Hill and The Sacrifice show the heroism spirit of the Chinese People’s Volunteer Army in a miraculous way, but their narrative focuses are different. The theme of the Battle of Triangle Hill is victory, and the theme of The Sacrifice is sacrifice. There are some differences and similarities between the two in narrative mode, character portrayal and ideological projection. Two films on the theme of resisting U. S. aggression and aiding Korea produced in different periods both reflect Chinese filmmakers’ active response to the theme of the times and reflect the value demands of the main melody films under the will of the state.
