High tune music is the most mature, distinctive and typical form of xiang opera. Its music contains rich and strong regional colors. It is the inheritor and promoter of Huxiang culture. On the one hand, the inheritance of high tune music of xiang opera is conducive to the cultural construction of colleges and universities in Hunan, enhancing students’sense of cultural and regional identity, enhancing students’ sense of cultural and regional identity, and cultivating national consciousness and national feelings. On the other hand, colleges and universities in Hunan are also the important places for the inheritance and development of the high tune music of xiang opera. The development of high tune music of xiang opera needs universities and colloges in Hunan and vice versa, so the integration of these two is the general trend. Through reforms in content, subject matter, stage design, vocal design and accompaniment band, the high tune music of contemporary xiang opera could be integrated with the cultural construction of colleges and universities in Hunan in the aspects of keeping the traditional drama into campus activities, innovating inheritance methods and establishing long-term integration mechanism, strengthening the aesthetic education construction of high tune music curriculum of xiang opera, and using new media to develop new forms of art inheritance. It is of great significance to cultivate excellent students with the ability of inheriting Chinese excellent traditional music and bulid confidence in Chinese culture.
