Abstract:From the perspective of realistic creation, the film Send Me to the Clouds uses irony to show the difficulties and struggles of the characters, which reflects the sad reality that people have nowhere to escape, and shows the way of getting along with spirit and flesh, self and others in the form of “reconciliation”. When interpreting the difficulties and obstacles of Chinese people’s survival, it directly hits the contradictions and pain points in real life. It is full of the director’s spiritual appeal that he hopes to break through the mental dilemma and escape from the coercion of material habits. By using Chinese classical freehand brushwork techniques and symbols, this spiritual appeal shows rich cultural implications, which provides a reference for rethinking the crux of modern civilization.
