As a classic poet in the history of Chinese new poetry, the phenomenon of Mu Dan’s reappearance in the new era was closely related to the changes of the context of times. In the early 1980s, under the constraints of political factors, the traditional concepts of poetry and the acceptance concepts of readers, as well as other factors, the value of individuality and modernity of Mu Dan’s poetry was restrained and obscured. The construction process of Mu Dan’s poetry presented a certain difficulty. Since the middle and late 1980s, with the changes of literary context and the transformation of research concept, the value and status of Mu Dan’s modernist poetry have been recognized and received by the literary circle. Mu Dan has also stood out from the Nine-leaf School of Poetry and become an outstanding poet in the history of modern Chinese poetry.
