Abstract:Packaging synchronizes with the origin of mankind. With the development of human society, the concept, function and mode of packaging, as well as its position and role in social production and life has changed greatly. The fundamental reason that causes all these changes is the evolution of its design value pursuit. From the non- added value at the beginning of packaging, to the general added value after the emergence of social division of labor, the high added value in the era of commodity economy, and then to the pursuit of super added value under the conditions of market economy in industrial society, it indicates the development of packaging and social progress, and at the same time, it causes prominent problems such as resource consumption and environmental pollution. In the era of digital intelligence, packaging is facing new development opportunities. However, in order to build a community with shared future for mankind, the value of intelligent packaging design must go out of the error of pursuing super added value, and establish the value pursuit of harmony between human needs and nature, so as to fundamentally solve the problems existing in packaging.
