Red culture is an indispensable part of socialist culture with Chinese characteristics. Since the 18th National Congress of the CPC, Xi Jinping has attached great importance to the inheritance and promotion of red culture. He has made an important exposition of red culture and answered theoretical and practical questions such as “where does red culture come from”, “what is its use and how to promote it”. Xi Jinping’s view on red culture analyzes the generation dimension of red culture, which is based on Marxism and Sinicized Marxism, rooted in Chinese excellent traditional culture and derived from the great struggle practice of the Chinese Communists. This paper expounds the value dimension of red culture, which is conducive to enhancing the cultural confidence of the Chinese nation, safeguarding the fundamental interests of the broad masses of the people and building up people’s ideals and beliefs. It points out that to carry forward the red culture is to make good use of red resources, carry forward the red tradition and inherit the red gene. In the new era, it is very important to deeply learn and grasp the generation dimension, value dimension and practice dimension of Xi Jinping’s red cultural view for strengthening national cultural confidence and strengthening the cohesion and centripetal force of the Chinese nation.
