Ma Xiaoquan’s novel Bank Archives tells the story of the fate of 29 employees of a small county bank after the reform and opening up in the form of “archives style”. The novel is of distinctive vanguard in style. In narrative strategy, the author abandons the omniscient angle of view and adopts the blank external angle of view, integrating the cavalier perspective of Chinese painting into the narrative of novels, exploring the avant-garde factors from the traditional artistic techniques, and realizing the organic integration of the avant-garde in the form of novels and the traditional narrative, thus providing a beneficial attempt for the avant-garde of the local narrative experience of Chinese literature.
