Abstract:Public welfare is the basic attribute of a museum. Marketization is the development trend and realistic requirement of a museum. The reasaon is that the museum repositions its role under the transformation of the economic system and the museum exposes its funding crisis under the condition of government supply failure. It seems that there is a diametrically opposed relationship between public interest and private value. But in fact, they should complement each other. Marketization finances museums and alleviates its financial crisis. Public welfare expands the audience for marketization. In order to achieve a virtuous circle between public service and marketization, museums should adhere to legal fees, transparent fees and cost charges, which are not only conducive to the marketization of the museum, but also helpful to the return of public welfare.
