Abstract:Realistic films I Am Not Madame Bovary and Dying to Survive tell the stories about the protagonists Li Xuelian and Cheng Yong who try to prove the existence of themselves through intertextual narration and circular narration. They focus on the bottom-level small people and pay attention to their living conditions and social reality problems. They have shaped the typical characters in typical environments such as Li Xuelian and Cheng Yong, revealed, criticized and reflected on many problems existing in the present society, expanded the narrative capacity of the film and has the possibility of multiple interpretations.
