Abstract:Han Shaogong’s volume of essays South of the Mountain and North of the Water describes his daily life of living in Baxidong and what he has seen and heard in the countryside, and expounds his aesthetic experience and metaphysical thinking about the village life and the living condition of the villagers in the local narrative. At the same time, he expressed his boredom with city life. South of the Mountain and North of the Water is the product of Han Shaogong's struggle against anxiety. On the way to alleviate anxiety, Han Shaogong's strategy is to return to the natural village, and return to the land to work, so as to rest the body and mind; the second is to engage in literary creation, so as to make daily life aestheticized.
