Abstract:Xiangnan(southern Hunan) County was first set up in Qin Dynasty, and the current Gucheng Village of Shitan Town in Xiangtan county was in its jurisdiction. In Liang TianJian (502-519 AD.), Xiangtan County was set up with the jurisdiction of the current Hengdong county and Xixiang of Youxian county, governing Shiwan of Hengdong. Xiangtan county is alongside the Xiangjiang River, in addition the Mi River, Zhuo River and Yongle River also flow through the county, which all have many deep pools, so get its name. In the 8th year of Tang TianBao (749 AD.), Xiangtan County was reset up, but its county territory changed from Shiwan to Luokou (current Cheng Tang of Yisuhe in Xiangtan County), which is around the Xiangnan County in Eastern Han Dynasty.
