Abstract:Zhu Yuhong's Individualism in Eileen Chang's Novels has many misjudgments. This paper argues that “on the issue of individualism, Eileen Chang's novels echo Lu Xun's novels”, which has no basis. The article argues that “I” refuse to answer Xianglinsao's “soul” question “from the feeling of nothingness caused by loss of faith”,which is Zhu Yuhong and many scholars' misreading of Lu Xun's Blessing at present. This paper makes a particularly farfetched judgment on the relationship between Eileen Chang's individualism and politics, because Eileen Chang's political observation and individualism appeal are in the same line, and there is no “torture” situation. Narcissism, self deception and nihilism are not the distorted psychology of the modern society in the cultural context. Narcissism and selfdelusion are the general national psychology, and nihilism also originates from the Chinese and western literary tradition. It should be said that Zhu Yuhong's research on the topic of Individualism in Eileen Chang's Novels is far from essential.
