Abstract:Bizka Genealogy, a novel by Huang Qingsong, a writer of western Hunan, continues the reflection on the relationship between modern civilization and the native land in the literary genealogy of Hunan from Shen Congwen to Han Shaogong in the 20th century. Based on the secular / divine language which is the symbol of the existence of Huaqiao world, it reflects on the unitary and essential modern civilization. With a broad historical perspective, the author not only presents Bizka people's “Mingtangjing” discourse and the way and philosophy of existence behind it, but also combines the context and difficulties of the present Chinese society. It further examines the contemporary proposition of “going out of native land” that Chinese people have been facing since the 19th century.
