In the early days of new China, in order to consolidate the new state political power and the ruling position, recover the national economy and establish the socialist system, the CPC creatively carried out ideological and political education and accumulated a wealth of experience, which mainly includes five aspects. First, we should pay attention to theoretical education and arm the party, educate the whole people and cultivate new socialist people with MarxismLeninism and Mao Zedong thought. Second, we should give full play to ideological and political educations functions in guiding, serving and ensuring for the partys central work and other work. Third, we should insist on the unity of thought and respect the differences and diversity, based on the reality of social development and peoples political and ideological state. Fourth, we should combine the ideological and political education with the material interests. Finally, we should pay attention to the construction of the Party in order to ensure the Partys strong leadership of ideological and political education. A careful summary of these experience is of great significance for the current ideological and political education.
