The debate over the birth place of Feng Zizhen has never stopped since the ancient times, among which Youxian and Xiangxiang represent the two most popular statements. According to the New Evidences of Feng Zizhen’s Birth Place and Biography, there are historical materials and Feng’s works indicating that Feng comes from Youxian county. However, an article titled Observation on the Birth Place of Feng Zizhen: A Discussion with Mr. Yi Xiaobin has proposed arguments against the opinion above, regarding Xiangxiang county as his birth place. Based on the analysis of the views and evidences in the two articles while considering relevant poems, essays and genealogical information, it is more convincing that Feng is from Youxian county.
