Abstract:If we put Yan Lianke’s local novels into the ovrerall view of Chinese local writing, and find out his uniqueness of suffering writing and power writing through the way of close reading, it is easy to know that although Yan Lianke also takes suffering and power, which are the eternal and general problems of Chinese countries, as the major themes, his writing is surely different from the traditional local writing on the following aspects: the native rendering of “aching body”, the unique pondering on the resistance of suffering, the personal rethinking of power operation, and the extremalization of country situation, the vulgar description, etc. To some extent, Yan’s local novels have surpassed the pattern of traditional Chinese local writing, and present a personalized look.
