    Abstract:

The proverb of "arm twist but the thigh" is widely used in Chinese context, and it is usually corresponded with "drown into the long body" for translation between Chinese and Japanese. It is notable that they are just the same in a certain sense field, but there is a big difference in the story of the prototype and the specific application. Fundamentally, this is a reflection of the different cultures of China and Japan. Specifically, the distinction "view of current affairs" which the two proverbs reflecte is also the main reason for this difference.
