Abstract:Lou Ye’s film of Blind Massage presents some unique features among other films which have the same theme of “disabled people”. On the one hand, it avoided the tearful misery model; on the other hand, it also differentiates from the “main melody” films which propagandize perseverance and determination under disabled physical condition. Besides, it set apart from those slightly idealistic “pure love film” of disabled peopleao well. This film offers a close scrutiny of the unique language of “sound care”, “blind sight” and the equal treatment of narrative in Blind Massage combined with a comparison with other films that portraying the disabled people.
