In the historical novel Yang Du, there are altogether four faces of the leading character Yang Du portrayed by Tang Haoming: the scholar Yang Du,the politician Yang Du,the Zen master Yang Du,and the tragedy Yang Du as a result of the distress caused by the former three faces. The plenteousness and multi-dimension of Yang Du exposes the depth of thinking as a scholar and the artistic altitude as a writer for Tang Haoming.
