Abstract:Liang Qichao and Yan Fu are both deep influential figures in Chinese modern thought and cultural history. Liang Qichao's criticism of Yan Fu has obvious emotional color. It can be divided into four stages: before the Wuxu political reform, during the period of exile in Japan, after the abandonment of the political career and after the death of Yan Fu. Criticism mainly includes two aspects: one is "Into the statements of a School" of the translation, the other is "Over-Quaint". The overall evaluation is not very low, but too little writing. To investigate its reason, besides their personal resentment, it is also related to their political orientation and academic concepts.
