Abstract:Forty-one Cannons involves two kinds of space and time——the past and the present, in which the main line is about how the cannon child Luo Xiaotong narrated family history and village history, and the subline is about the narration of love history and sexual history another character Lan Daguan made. Meanwhile, the third line in the super-narrative can be grasped based on the narrative stratification, namely, another story was happening while one story is being narrated. The narration of the cannon child’s carnal desire will be better appreciated from the perspective of children in the retrospective narrative as well.
