Abstract:Bu Qinghua’s prose, taking the spirits of advocating morality, emphasizing learning, upholding righteousness, and inspiring aspiration as its focus, describes his loving the family, cherishing the old friends, recalling the childhood, writing the youth, discussing the studies, experiencing the life, and commenting the current affairs, which all glitters a scholar’s wisdom and an elderly man’s profound vision, presents the great realm of doing worldly affairs with an unworldly mind, and clearly mirrors the life path and success process of PRC’s first generation scholars. Bu is good at appraisal and philosophical thinking. Though he maneuvers among various political groupings, he still remains plain and implicit. So his prose presents a style characteristic of combining reasons and intelligence.
