Being self and narrow, the characters who are the robber, the worrior and his wife in the film Rashomon have lead to miserable hell and couldn’t acquired freedom in spirit. Although the woodcutter had mistake, he could corrected the error by active behavior so that his spirit could surpass the Hell and get freedom. Akira Kurosawa hoped his audiences might studied how to confront human’s suffers and conquer human’s weakness in absurd and non-rationable world by watching his films.
