Abstract:Nie Mao’s book Hurt Villages—Worries and Thoughts on China’s Left-behind Children made an in-depth report on the life and fate of more than 58 million left-behind children in rural areas during China’s social transformation. It also made independent review and thinking on the problems caused by left-behind children from the sociological perspective, called on the public to concern the living circumstances of left-behind children and respect their life appeals.
