Abstract:In the 1930s, Feng Zhi experienced a thorough change of thought and poetry creation from the early self expression and personality display to modern pursuit of existentialism. This change laid a solid ideological and artistic foundation for the mature acme of his work Sonnet in the 1940s. The change of personal discourse from “I” to “we” in his poems is a typical example of such a transformation, and the poetry expression is also transformed from self expression into the narration of existentialism. The change of personal discourse is the result of the encounter and dialogue between the poet and the times, as well as a reflection of his unique poetic thinking.
