Abstract:The series of scholars’ biographies in Volume 38 and 39 of Qian Daxin’s Qianyan Tang Collected Works have been viewed simply as a raw material of Jiang Fan’s Biographies of Han Learning Scholars, while the author’s writing of academic history hasn’t received the due attention. Both the choice of scholars and the way of writing reflect the author's historian vision and elaborate selection. And some questions in Biographies of Han Learning Scholars, such as the character selection, writing style, can also be traced back to these biographies.
